A disturbing video showing a Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) official soliciting money from a passenger at the Lagos airport has prompted swift action from the Nigeria Airport Authority.
According to a press release signed by the Managing Director, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, the official has been removed from duty and is under disciplinary review, as the authority reaffirms its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism at its terminals.
She stated that passengers are encouraged to report any similar incidents to ensure a safe and respectful travel experience.

The official, Okpravero C. Ufuoma was unknowingly captured by a traveler using camera-enabled eyeglasses, soliciting money while on duty.
Furthermore, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has indefinitely suspended Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II (ASI 2), Okpravero C. Ufuoma who was filmed begging a traveler for financial assistance at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos State.
The suspension follows a viral video circulating on Nigerian social media and emitted condemnation from the unprofessional conduct of the official.
