The Plateau State Plateau State Ministry of Tourism and Culture has reaffirmed its commitment to recognizing and supporting individuals who contribute meaningfully to the preservation and promotion of the state’s rich cultural heritage.

The Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, Hon. Cornelius Doeyok  Dongna’an, today held a cordial and productive meeting with Ambassador Clement Dung, a widely recognized cultural personality known for his outstanding traditional costume displays during the Nzem Berom Cultural Festival.

Over the years, Mr. Dung has distinguished himself through his remarkable representation of Berom traditional attire, becoming a familiar and admired presence at cultural gatherings and festivals. His dedication has contributed significantly to projecting the beauty and identity of the Berom culture and the broader cultural heritage of Plateau State.

During the meeting, Hon. Cornelius Dongna’an Doeyok commended Mr. Dung for his passion and commitment to cultural expression and acknowledged the role he has played in promoting cultural awareness through his unique costume displays.

The Commissioner also encouraged Mr. Dung to develop himself into a recognizable cultural brand, noting that this would enable him to properly position his talent and image in a way that allows him to benefit from opportunities associated with cultural promotion and tourism.

“Individuals who represent our culture with such passion should be encouraged to structure their work in a way that allows them to benefit from it. Building a personal cultural brand can open doors for recognition, partnerships, and broader opportunities within the cultural and tourism space,” the Commissioner stated.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for Mr. Dung to share his perspectives and concerns regarding the use of his image in cultural promotions within the state. Both parties engaged in a respectful and constructive dialogue focused on ensuring that cultural contributors are properly recognized and empowered.

The Ministry reiterates its commitment to working closely with cultural practitioners, performers, and community ambassadors to strengthen Plateau State’s cultural identity and position the state as a leading destination for cultural tourism in Nigeria.

The Plateau State Government under the leadership of His execellency Barr. Caleb Mutfwang  Manasseh  remains proud of the individuals and communities whose dedication continues to preserve and promote the traditions that make the state unique.
