Following the decision by Kenya Civil Aviation Authority to allow Tanzania all-cargo Flight operations into Nairobi by Air Tanzania under Fifth Freedom Traffic Rights, the Tanzanian Civil Aviation Authority has reversed its decision to stop Kenya Airways flight operations into Dar es Salaam.
According to a public notice signed by the Director General Tanzanian Civil Aviation Authority, HAMZA S. JOHARI, he said: “This is to inform the Public that the aeronautical authorities of the Republic of Kenya have granted the Fifth Freedom Traffic Right to Air Tanzania Company Limited for allcargo service as per the request of the United Republic of Tanzania, with effect from 16 January 2024.
“Folowing this development, the aeronautical authoritles of the United Republic of Tarzania hereby withdraw its Decision of 15 January 2024 and therefore approval for Kenya Airways to operate Third and Fourth Freedom Traffic Rights between Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, is hereby restored with immediate effect.
“The aeronautical authorities of the United Republic of Tanzania avail itself of this opportunity to renew to the Public the assurances of its highest consideration.”
According to a notice earlier released by the Tanzanian Civil Aviation Authority, it’s Kenyan counterpart had earlier refused to approve its request to allow its national carrier, Air Tanzania access into Nairobi, forcing to take it’s earlier decision.
