Africa: Tourism Ethiopia honours hospitality expert Kumneger Teketel for 6 years of MICE initiative

Leading Ethiopian tourism expert and CEO of OZZIE Business and Hospitality Consultancy, Kumneger Teketel W/Gebriel has been honoured by Tourism Ethiopia for his efforts and initiative in the past six years toward the growth of MICE tourism in the country.

Kumneger Teketel is one of Africa’s leading tourism experts, especially in the field of hospitality.

In October 2013, he debuted the Hotel Show Africa in Addis Ababa. The Hotel Show Africa:Hospitality and Tourism Trade Show is the first and the largest hospitality and tourism event in Ethiopia and one of the biggest in Africa.

In 2019, Addis Ababa City Administration Cabinet led by its Mayor, His Excellency Eng. Takele Uma appointed Teketel as Director of Addis Ababa Convention Bureau to reposition the city and country’s MICE industry.

In 2018, Kumneger Teketel bagged the Africa Legend of Travel Award, the highest honours given at the annual Akwaaba African Travel Market, the leading Pan-African Tourism Expo.

The following year, he was a recipient of the African Top 100 Global Tourism Personalities Award which he recieved at the 15th Akwaaba African Travel Market held in Lagos, Nigeria.
