South Africa Carrier, Safair, an airline based at the O.R. Tambo International Airport in Kempton Park has emerged as the leading low-cost carrier for the year 2023 according to a report by Cirium, the world’s most trusted source of aviation analytics.

According to cirium.com, Brazilian Carrier, Azul Airline, Hong Kong Express, Jetstar Japan and Iberia Express followed in the second, third, fourth and fifth position respectively.

Cirium defines on-time arrivals as a “flight that arrives within 15 minutes of the scheduled gate arrival. For an airport, it is defined as departing within 15 minutes of its scheduled departure.”
