West African carrier ASKY Airlines has expanded its fleet to 17 aircraft following the arrival of a new Boeing 737 MAX 8, registration ET-BCK, in Lomé, Togo, on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The latest acquisition marks another milestone in the airline’s fleet expansion strategy aimed at strengthening its network and increasing flight frequencies across Africa.

Earlier this year, ASKY had unveiled plans to grow its fleet to 17 aircraft in order to offer daily services to major destinations within its network and enhance connectivity across the continent.

The newly acquired Boeing 737 MAX 8 is configured with 16 Business Class seats and 144 Economy Class seats, providing a total capacity of 160 passengers. The aircraft is expected to boost the airline’s operational efficiency and support rising passenger demand on key routes.

The arrival of ET-BCK represents ASKY’s second aircraft acquisition of the year, coming just days after the addition of another Boeing 737 MAX 8, ET-BCJ, which joined the fleet on July 5, 2026.

The fleet expansion underscores ASKY’s commitment to strengthening its position as one of Africa’s leading regional carriers and improving air connectivity across West and Central Africa.

With a growing fleet and an expanding route network, the Lomé-based airline continues to play a pivotal role in facilitating business and leisure travel across the continent, linking several African cities through its hub in Togo.

Industry observers say the addition of two new aircraft within a short period reflects ASKY’s confidence in the recovery and long-term growth prospects of the African aviation market.

The airline is expected to deploy the new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on high-demand routes as it pursues its objective of providing more frequent and reliable services to passengers across its network.
