Poised to bring more value to its customers in the air travel industry, KLM and East African carrier, Kenya Airways have both signed an extended sales agreement for most European and East African countries, which are the focus of the cooperation.

The agreement according to finchannel.com, expected to deepen corporation with the two carriers.

KLM President and CEO, Pieter Elbers said: “We continuously want to create more value for our customers, and in doing so we are very excited to deepen our cooperation with Kenya Airways. This new phase is good news for our customers,” KLM President & CEO Pieter Elbers.

The two airlines already have a longstanding Joint Venture (JV) agreement under which Kenya Airways and KLM operate on the London and Amsterdam routes into Nairobi. The new agreement enables KQ and KLM to sell more JV flights to/from Europe and East Africa and destinations beyond Amsterdam and Nairobi, according to KLM.

Commenting on the extended GSA agreement, Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and CEO Sebastian Mikosz said: “Kenya Airways is working towards strengthening its network and consolidating Nairobi’s position as a leading hub in East Africa.

The networks of both airlines are complementary and we are confident that this agreement will allow us to find the synergies for us to grow our respective networks.”
