Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the launch of the Green Line rail project, a major infrastructure initiative aimed at improving transportation across the state.
The rail line will connect key areas, including Victoria Island, Lekki, Ajah, and the Free Trade Zone, with construction set to commence this year.
According to guardian.ng, Governor Sanwo-Olu made this known to the press on Friday during the commissioning of the newly reconstructed Chief Yesufu Abiodun Oniru/Akiogun Road, an alternative route to the Admiralty Circle Toll Plaza in Lekki, Eti-Osa Local Government Area.
The governor, while encouraging members of the communities to support the Lagos State Government, said that the project will benefit the communities.
The government had earlier signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) to fund the project.
