Carnival Calabar Chairman Ita Giwa at the carnival São Paolo Brazil
After successfully winning the 2016 Carnival Calabar for the first time in the history of the yearly event, Seagull Band, one of the bands of the festival, took part in the carnival São Paolo Brazil.
The band led by its chairman, Princess Senator Florence Ita Giwa, brought the African flavour of the biggest street party in Africa to carnival Sao Paolo, Brasil 2017.
Adorned in a colourful gold and yellowish outfit of the seagull band, the Senator awed the audience.
According to travelchannel.com, Brazil celebrates the end of summer and the beginning of Lent every February or March, depending on the year, with a brash, flashy spectacle of song, dance and visual creativity called Carnival.
Exuberant cheers and sparkling bits of glitter fill the night sky over the Sambadrome, São Paulo’s Carnival parade stadium, while thousands of revelers in colored feathers and dazzling tinsel march, twirl, sing and shout their way past boisterous crowds to the mesmerizing cadences of samba.
