Ghana Tourism Authority, in collaboration with Akwaaba Travel Market, Nigeria will be hosting the 6th Accra Weizo West African Travel Expo.
According to a press release by Ghana Tourism Authority, the Accra Weizo Team from Nigeria led by the founder, Ikechi Uko, will arrive in Ghana on 23rd May 2023.
The group will embark on a tour to Akosombo in the Eastern Region, where they will hike, cruise and engage in other leisure activities at Peninsula Resort, Akosombo as well as Royal Senchi Resort, Akosombo.
Other exciting activities will include, Night Life, B2B Networking, Balafon Award of Excellence and Exhibitions. The event will be climaxed on Friday 26th May, 2023 with a conference under the theme ‘Tourism Development Through Digitalizaton’.
The moderator for the conference will be Prof. Eunice Fay Amissah (Hospitality and Tourism Department, University of Cape Coast). The panelists include Akosua Shirley (a tourism blogger), Eddie Ampah (Afrofuture) and Eugene Allotey (University of Ghana Business School, Legon).
The Accra Weizo is one of the events geared towards getting West Africans to cooperate amongst themselves. The event aims at creating a seamless travel environment in West Africa as it brings together travel professionals from the Sub-region.
The 2023 Accra Weizo travel expo will also have participanting travel and tourism organizations and hotels such as Accra City Hotel, Royal Senchi, Peninsula Resorts and Waheguru Travels.
