Speaking during the standardization conference for tourism and related services industry organised by Standards Organization of Nigeria(SON) in Lagos, Tokunbo Aderibigbe Corporate Affairs Manager, GB Foods noted the organisation has promoted changes that have positive impacts on the life of students, local communities, youngsters amongst others.
“GB Foods actually have a number of things and the first is in the capacity development, we actually support Lagos Business School as well as Junior Achievements Nigeria across some of their capacity developments, education and upscaling new graduates with key professional attributes as they are going forward.
“In Ogun State, there is a program and initiative we have for youngsters in Bama. There are also a number of things that we do.
Aderibigbe said, “Kebi is also a very important state for us, and that’s where we have our GB Foods Tomato Farming and Processing Factory.
We also provided them with things like boreholes and we have provided them with things like education facilities.
He said, GB Foods have employed sizable number of people in their farm in Ngaski Local Government Area (LGA) of Kebbi State. He, thereby emphasised that such development has created over a thousand of jobs within the state.
“Also, there is skills transfer, in this case we teach them how to grow tomatoes, we do something which is more or less like a creative industry in Nigeria.
And so from skills transfer to corporation social responsibility and to even contributing to the economic wellbeing of the state and Nigeria in general. And these are some of the things GB Foods actual do for the locals.
We actually celebrating local flavours and with local products we need to also contribute to the local economy of the people and we do it very well.”
Oreoluwa Atinmo Marketing Director GB Foods said, “ GB Foods is a home to culinary paragon such as Gino, Bama, Liebig, Star, Grand Italia, Bra bond, jago amongst others.
Also, in an active support on SON goals of growing tourism, she viewed the role of standardization and pointed out needs for tourism businesses which are basically food service channel and hotels the big customers in the industry should focus on standards to attain growth.
“So we are here to basically showing our support and commend SON for organising the event.”

On separate occasion President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Friday inaugurated GB Foods Tomato Farming and Processing Factory in LGA of Kebbi State.
Commissioning the factory at Gafara village of Ngaski LGA, the president pledged to support both foreign and indigenous investors willing to invest in Nigeria. This, according to him, is with a view to creating job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths.
