The Tanzania Tourism Board (TTB) has held a strategic meeting with a delegation from the Embassy of China, led by the new Cultural Counselor and Director of the China Cultural Center, Counselor Li Qianqing, alongside Mr. Ma Feng.
According to the board post on LinkedIn, the meeting focused on strengthening tourism cooperation and exploring opportunities to enhance cultural exchange and promote Tanzania as a leading tourism destination in the Chinese market.
Discussions centred on joint tourism marketing initiatives and the use of the Destination Tanzania Portal to increase the destination’s visibility among Chinese travellers. Both sides also reviewed preparations for the upcoming China tourism roadshow scheduled for December 2026, which is expected to create opportunities for greater engagement between Tanzanian tourism stakeholders and the Chinese travel trade.
The meeting also highlighted TTB’s planned participation in China’s tourism and cultural infrastructure programme in Guizhou from November 3 to 11, 2026. The engagement is expected to strengthen institutional ties, encourage knowledge exchange and support future collaboration in tourism promotion between Tanzania and China.
