Lydia Bebe-Kum, Programme Officer at the UN Tourism Regional Department for Africa, has been recognised among the Africa Travel 100 Women Award recipients, a prestigious honour celebrating outstanding women driving growth and innovation in the continent’s travel and tourism sector.
Dynamic and dedicated, Mrs. Bebe-Kum brings over 22 years of professional experience to her role, where she has been instrumental in advancing sustainable tourism projects across Africa. Her work has focused on women’s empowerment, economic growth, environmental preservation, and creative approaches to travel facilitation, making her a respected voice in the industry.

Prior to joining UN Tourism, she built a solid background in international relations and the travel sector, equipping her with the skills to navigate complex global partnerships. She holds a master’s degree in Political Sciences from the Freie Universität Berlin, as well as a postgraduate certificate in Project Management from the University of Manchester.
