Nigeria’s Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), has commenced investigation into an incident involving one of the country’s domestic airlines, Max Air at the Minna International Airport, Niger State.
The aircraft a Boeing 747-400 with registration number, 5N-DBK carrying about 560 inbound pilgrims with 19 crew members onboard suddenly developed technical fault as it was about landing at the airport.
According to the agency, the aircraft took off from the Addul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, but on landing at the Minna airport, it scraped the runway while the No 1 engine brushed the runway surface.
AIB in a press statement said, its team of safety investigators has commenced investigations to unravel the cause of the incident.
The agency urged members of the public with relevant information to assist the organisation with the investigation.
It said: “We want the public to know that we would be amenable to receiving any video clip, relevant evidence or information any member of the public may have of the serious incident, that can assist us with this investigation” it said.
