Air Cote D’Ivoire, one of West Africa’s leading airlines, has re-opened its Abuja route following the completion of repair works on the airport’s runway which started six weeks ago.
The airport was closed to air operations but was opened last Wednesday a week earlier from the initial deadline given by the Minister of state for aviation, Hadi Sirika.
Air Cote D’Ivoire said its weekly flight operations into and out of Abuja which commenced on the 19th of April will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Since opening of the airport, stakeholders in the sector have continued to commend the heads of parastatals in the industry for ensuring that the airport was reopened ahead of the scheduled date.
According to atqnews.com Air Cote D’Ivoire has continued to deepen its operation along the West Coast.
The airlines recently increased its flight schedule on the Abidjan-Accra route to 11 flights per week.
According to the airline, it is also increasing its flight frequencies to several destinations in West and Central Africa in order to ensure that it broadens it reach along the West Coast.
The airline said effective April 1st, 2017, it will increase it flight frequencies to Dakar to 14 flights per week, operating two flights per day.
The airline stated that it will operate 11 flights per week to Cotonou, Libreville, Accra and Lome.
Air Cote D’Ivoire also revealed that it will also increase it frequencies to Bamako to 10 flights per week and 9 flights per week to Conakry, the Guinean capital.
It said it will operate 7 flights per week to Brazzaville, Ougadougou, Niamey and Monrovia.
CEO, René Décurey, explained that this demonstrated the airline’s commitment to accelerate its growth in western and central Africa, which has already resulted in it tripling passenger numbers over the past three years.
