Gambia Bird2LAGOS, Nigeria – Gambian airline Gambia Bird is set to begin its flight operations into the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, Nigeria from the 30th March, 2014.
The Commercial Manager of Gambia Bird, Mrs Sodieri Osei-Bonsu said in Lagos that the airline planned to negotiate interline agreement with Nigerian carriers for the distribution of passengers on domestic routes from the West African Coast .
Osei-Bonsu said the airline is coming to Nigeria to tap into the huge air travel market by offering the Nigerian public value for their money.
Mrs. Bonsu stressed that the airline has a good support system from its parent company, Germanian Group, noting that with the structure of the Gambia Bird, Nigerian traveling public would have seamless travel experiences.
According to her, the Gambia Bird airfares would be competitive and affordable, with good customer service and reliability of the airline will appeal to numerous airline passengers across the West African sub-region.
The Gambia Bird Commercial Manager further noted that the airline has a lot of aircraft in its fleet ranging from Airbus A319, Airbus 757 amongst others, and that coming to Nigeria is to further expand the airline’s operation in its West African sub-region.
She said, “One of the things that keeps us going as an airline is our reliability, that is something that we do well. We give our customers value for their money. We offer fares that are competitive.
“Above all, we are reliable, traveling with us on Gambia Bird is convenience and we are consistent in delivering qualitative services to all our customers. Nigeria is a new market and we hope that we are going to break even and make the Nigerian travelling publics have a wonderful time and experience while traveling with us,” said Mrs. Bonsu.
She said that the airline has been in operation for over one year and its major focus is on the West Africa sub-region with some flight operating into Europe.
According to Mrs. Bonsu, “We have been operating for over a year now and one of the key things that keeps our customers loyal and makes us to win new customers is the reliability factor, price is important but we found out that a lot of time for business traffic, reliability is key and that is something that we know that we do a lot better during any competition, apart from that we are price in such a way that we give a lot of value for money and with that we are not looking at charging huge amount for airfares. Our fares are known to be very competitive, we may not be the cheapest carrier but we are definitely not the most expensive carrier and with that people who fly us keep coming back.
“It is reliability, it is convenience, it is consistency, we don’t want a situation that today, you fly us it was fantastic and next week you fly us, it is not so good, we pride ourselves on the consistency of our service delivery and that is one of the things that we do better than our competitors. As far as getting first time travellers to try us because obviously Nigeria is a new market the public does not know Gambia Bird so we urge them to try our service and they will never regret it.”
