Rotiba Funmi, the Chief Executive Officer of Special Tours and Travels Limited , who also doubles as the CEO of Imperial House of Culture has been listed in the Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria.

The listing of the Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria by Travellers Magazine is historic and an effort to cast in gold the faces of the people who are behind the great effort and deep sacrifices in promoting tourism in Nigeria despite the harsh conditions they operate within the tourism landscape in Nigeria. Travellers Magazine is the first travel magazine in West Africa, remaining consistent in its publications for over 22 years.

Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria list was set up to recognize individuals who have distinguished themselves as foremost and outstanding drivers in the travel and tourism industry in Nigeria; and through their efforts and or that of their organizations have impacted positively on the travel and tourism sector in Nigeria, stimulating and helping to achieve the country’s tourism goals and forging interactions among stakeholders and customers across the country. This is the second edition. In 1999 Travellers Magazine published its first Compilation of the Nigerian Top 100 Tourism Club. Almost two decades later the list needs to be updated. Rotiba Funmi has been honored to have emerged on that list.

The Chief Executive officer of Imperial House of Culture, Funmi, enjoys a long history in tour and travel management, capacity for coordinating events and sustains relationships. She has effectively nursed her company over the years, and in the process transformed Special Tours and Travels Limited into one of the most well recognized tours and travel companies in Nigeria. Funmi’s traits of commitment, creativity and passion for travels and tourism as seen represent Nigeria in several conference and seminars within and outside Africa, she has handled several State Trips, Leadership Training and Youth Seminar, excursions and sports events like the world cup etc.

Erelu as she’s is fondly called was Crowned Erelu Asa of Nigeria for her passion and love of sustaining and protecting the Cultural Value of Yoruba and Nigeria as a whole. Erelu Funmi was honored with Top 100 Tourism Personalities in West Africa, in the year 2017 in Accra, Ghana. She was also honored with Best 100 Tour Operators by Africa Travel Market.
Rotiba Funmi hails from Irun Akoko, Ondo State.

Funmi, after primary education at Sacred Heart Catholic School, and secondary at the Our Lady of Apostles, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Lagos State University, Ojo – Lagos State. In year 2018, she bagged Doctor of Letters (Litt. D) In Travel and Tourism. Erelu is also a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM). Without gainsaying the fact, the visibility She has established for herself in the Cultural and Tourism landscape of Nigeria can best be described as, “Most Featured”.
