In a bid to ensure the successful hosting of the Miss Africa 2020 grand finale, an on the spot assessment of the Calabar International Convention Center (CICC), has been carried out by the Senior Special Assistant Governor’s Office Events Production & Tourism Mr Thomas Ikpeme.
Despite the unfortunate events Mr Joseph was quite ecstatic as the Governor of Cross River State Sir Ben Ayade has already begun repairs of the facility as workers were clearly seen working on various sections of the building.
The MD has also assured the team that by 1st week of December the CICC will be ready and open to the public for events and ready to host the 5th Edition Miss Africa 2020.
The team also made a stop at the U.J Esuene stadium as one of the events destination.
According to Mr Thomas Ikpeme, the events of the past weeks has dampened the spirit of the Carnival city of Calabar but noted that the spirit of forgiveness, tolerance, love and celebration will be revived as all hands are on deck to rebuild and reposition the state for greatness.
He also thanked Governor Ben Ayade for proactively taking charge as repairs and renovations have already begun in most affected facilities.
