Africa: Former Big Brother Naija Star Tacha sets 2 Guinness World Records for the most Makeovers in 24 hours

Nigerian celebrity and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Natacha Akide, also known as Tacha, has set 2 Guinness World Records after breaking two global titles in the beauty category.

Tacha completed a record 145 cosmetic makeovers in 24 hours and a record 82 makeovers in 8 hours during an event in Lagos, Nigeria, on October 11-12, 2025. The event was part of her “Tacha Beauty Festival” and aimed to put the Nigerian beauty industry on the global map. She broke the previous record of 113 makeovers, surpassing the old record by completing 115 makeovers in just 12 hours.

According to The Nation, celebrities like Alex Unusual, Toke Makinwa, Ice Prince and Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Idris Aregbe were in attendance. Despite facing technical issues, including a power outage, Tacha demonstrated remarkable resilience and speed, transforming 145 models with diverse skin tones and body types. Each model’s transformation was documented with professional headshots and runway showcases as part of the Tacha Beauty Festival.

Tacha, became a household name after participating in Big Brother Naija Season 4. After receiving confirmation from Guinness World Records, Tacha said she was emotional and proud. “It was not just about setting a record, it was about rewriting the narrative that African women can lead, create, and inspire at a global level,” she said. She appreciated her team, including project manager Seun Oluyemi Anthony, known as Otunba, for coordinating logistics and helping recruit models.
