Salome Danjuma, Food, Beverage and Spa Manager of The Wheatbaker, says the hotel is deliberately building a hospitality brand rooted in African excellence and Nigerian cultural pride.
Speaking at the Naija7Wonders Zoom Conference 3.0, Danjuma explained that the hotel has intentionally incorporated indigenous products and African-inspired experiences into its operations to showcase Nigeria’s creativity and sophistication to international guests.
She noted that the hotel’s philosophy is centered on proving that a proudly Nigerian brand can compete at global standards while maintaining its cultural identity.
According to her, the transformation of Nigeria’s food industry in recent years has played a major role in strengthening tourism, with Nigerian restaurants and culinary experiences now attracting international attention.
Danjuma expressed excitement about the rapid evolution of the hospitality sector, saying the industry has grown tremendously over the past decade through innovation, improved service delivery and the increasing influence of technology.
While acknowledging challenges such as power supply and traffic congestion, she maintained that the opportunities within Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality sectors remain enormous and continue to attract investment and expansion.
