Kenya’s meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) sector continued its strong growth trajectory in the 2024/25 financial year, hosting 12,224 conferences and attracting 736,874 delegates, according to the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Tourism Board, June Chepkemei.
The figures represent a significant increase from the 10,558 conferences and 638,478 delegates recorded in the 2022/23 financial year, underscoring Kenya’s rising profile as a leading business events and conference destination in Africa.
In 2023, business events added an estimated KSh 11 billion to the economy, boosting hotels, airlines, transport, retail and local businesses. This is proof of what the sector can deliver—and how much more we can unlock.
Bomas International convention centre is a game changer and will see Kenya double its MICE contribution to the economy.
