Air Peace

The inaugural flight of Air Peace to London, Gatwick was scheduled for 30th March 2024 at 00:10 so check in was on Friday night from 5:30 to 8:30pm.

The check in process was smooth. Being the inaugural flight there was a lot of fanfare and speeches. The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), Director General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Capt. Chris Najomo and other dignitaries were present.

That concluded, we proceeded to board the flight. The process was smooth and pleasurable. The Aircraft was a 777 with First, Business and Economy class seat configuration. The flight took off at 00:08. The inflight entertainment was good though a bit limited in terms of choice.

The crew were all smartly dressed, courteous and professional. The food was on point. Nigerian and continental dishes were available including ‘swallow’ which was highly commended by those who ate it.

We arrived at Gatwick Airport South Terminal right on time and the landing was the smoothest I have experienced in a long time. Overall it was a good flight which I would definitely recommend.

I promised to give a review of my inbound trip on Air Peace just in case the fantastic experience on inaugural flight was a fluke seeing that we had many dignitaries on board.

Today’s flight (8th April 2024) was scheduled for 11:10am and check in commenced at 5:30am. It was a smooth experience.

At 9:40am the gate number was displayed and we proceeded to gate number 19. I noticed British Airways roll up banners by the entrance, so obviously BA just used the gate. Nothing to complain about here.

Boarding commenced at 10:30am and it was smooth. The Aircraft is the Boeing 787 Dreamliner with Premium 2-3-2 and Economy class 3-3-3 seat configurations operated by Norse under the wet lease arrangement with Air Peace.

The Premium Class cabin was quite spacious with very generous leg room. The seats were very comfortable with 3/4 recline.

The plane started pushing back at 11:08am and soon thereafter we were on our way. Lunch was served and this time I opted for Jollof rice, Chicken and plantain. The quantity and quality was superb. It was really filling.

On board entertainment was good with a wide variety of movies etc. Inflight service was good, above average I would say. The cabin crew were exceptional.

The landing at 6:00pm was smooth, as was immigration and custom formalities.

Overall it was a far above average experience. Would I do it again? Definitely. I wish Air Peace the best of luck in its quest to win over more travellers
