United Nigeria Airlines has temporarily suspended all flight operations following the ongoing industrial action by labour unions against domestic airlines, citing the safety of passengers and crew as the primary reason for the decision.
In an advisory dated August 11, 2026, the airline said the suspension was necessary to protect its passengers and crew, adding that it would pause operations rather than compromise safety amid the current labour dispute.
“Rather than compromise on safety, we have chosen to pause operations until normalcy is restored,” the airline stated.
United Nigeria Airlines apologised to passengers for the disruption and said it is closely monitoring developments, with plans to resume full operations once the situation normalises.
The airline also assured affected passengers that they would be kept informed of revised flight schedules and urged them to contact its customer care team for further assistance.
The suspension comes as labour unions continue industrial action targeting domestic airlines, creating disruptions across Nigeria’s aviation sector.
United Nigeria Airlines said it appreciates passengers’ understanding and continued trust during the period.
