West African Carrier ASKY has announced the return to service of Boeing 737 aircraft ET-BBB, following an extensive heavy maintenance and structural repair programme successfully completed by Ethiopian MRO.
According to the airline, the aircraft, which sustained some structural damage during the incidents at Niamey International Airport on 29 January 2026, has undergone several months of specialized repair and maintenance. Its return to Lomé today marks a significant milestone for ASKY and reflects the successful completion of a demanding technical recovery programme.
ASKY extends its sincere appreciation to Ethiopian MRO and its highly skilled maintenance teams for their professionalism, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment throughout the repair process.
The restoration of ET-BBB required extensive heavy maintenance and structural repair work, demanding the highest levels of engineering precision, coordination, and adherence to all applicable aviation safety and maintenance standards and regulations.
The airline also recognizes the invaluable contribution of all teams like Boeing, other OEMs, and partners involved in the aircraft’s recovery, maintenance, technical coordination, and return to service.
