The former Minister for Tourism & Culture, The Gambia, Fatou Mas Jobe has been listed as one of the winners of the African Travel 100 Global Leaders Award for her remarkable achievement towards the growth of the tourism sector in Africa.
With over 25 years of diverse experience in leadership, travel, tourism, hospitality, customer service, and diplomacy, Jobe has built a robust global network.
Her career has spanned various sectors including Diplomacy, Corporate Banking, Bilateral & Multilateral Organizations, and Tourism & Hospitality.
Honourable Fatou Mas Jobe became the Minister of Tourism and Culture of The Gambia for four years (4th February 2010 to August 2014).

During this period, she succeeded in transforming the Gambia Tourism Authority into the Gambia Tourist Board, transforming The Gambia Hotel School into The Gambia Tourism & Hospitality Institute – with funding from the Spanish Government, and successfully implementing a $12m World Bank 5-Year Tourism Marketing Project.
These initiatives plus close collaboration with key stakeholders and Tour Operators generated a total Tourist arrival of over 500,000 in 2014, one of the best years of the Tourism Industry in The Gambia.
At a diplomatic level, she was appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of The Gambia to Malaysia in August 2014 and successfully mobilised, oversaw and managed the establishment of the Gambian embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
From July 2015 to December 2016 she was the Executive Director, of Operation Save the Children Foundation. Among her roles, she raised millions of Gambian Dalasis for a worthy cause and led an establishment that helps thousands of children get access to their basic needs and achieve their goals and aspirations.
She also served as the Managing Director and General Manager of Sindola Safari Lodge and Dunes Resort and Casino, from the 15th May 2006 to 4th May 2008 and from 2017 to 2018 respectively.
Honourable Fatou Mas Jobe has more than 12 years of experience in the Banking sector from Head of Marketing and corporate affairs at Standard Chartered Bank to the level of Group Head of Retail Banking at former PHB Bank.
Currently, she is actively involved in social responsibilities, serving on various Boards and Committees including being part of the ECOWAS Regional Monitoring Committee of the 2019 to 2023 Action Plan on the Return of Cultural Property to their countries of origin.
She is now Managing Director of Bliss Services Limited, where she directs the management of luxury residential and commercial properties like the Fajara Waterfront Residence in The Gambia with a wide range of consultancy services.
Her expertise in strategic planning, staff training, and project management has earned her a stellar reputation.
