Lalyans Nouvo Sesel (LNS) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Joe Samy, one of Seychelles’ most celebrated music legends.
The party described his death as a tremendous loss to the nation’s cultural and artistic heritage.
In a heartfelt statement, LNS Chairman Cyril Lau-Tee praised Joe Samy for his unwavering patriotism, exceptional talent, and the unifying power of his music. Known affectionately as “Ton Joe,” Samy’s melodies resonated far beyond Seychelles’ shores, earning him admiration both at home and internationally.
“Joe Samy’s music touched the hearts of many and reflected his vibrant joie de vivre,” Lau-Tee said. “He was not only an artist but a symbol of our national pride and unity.”
Throughout his illustrious career, Samy was known for infusing his work with themes of love for country, community, and culture. His legacy, according to LNS, stands as a testament to the power of music to uplift and connect people.
As Seychelles mourns one of its most beloved sons, LNS extended its condolences to Joe Samy’s family, friends, and supporters, while reaffirming his enduring place in the national consciousness.
“Adieu, Ton Joe,” the statement concluded. “Your memory and legacy will live on forever in our hearts.”
