The Non-Aligned Movement, established in 1955, has played a pivotal role for countries seeking decolonization and asserting independent stances from major power blocs. The upcoming summit is poised to be a critical event for diplomatic discourse and international relations.

Spearheading this monumental project at the iconic Speke Commonwealth Resort in Munyonyo is Ugandan billionaire Sudhir Ruparelia, who also has investments in Rwanda. The visionary expansion aims to introduce an international convention center, positioning the resort as a hub for global gatherings and corporate conventions.

With the capacity to accommodate large-scale conferences, international symposiums, and prestigious meetings, the convention center’s strategic location within the resort holds promise for elevating Uganda’s stature as a preferred destination for high-profile gatherings. Forecasts suggest a significant uptick in international events and dignitaries visiting the country, propelling economic growth and presenting new opportunities for the hospitality industry.

This project exemplifies Uganda’s forward-thinking approach to attract a global audience, fostering diplomatic and business exchanges while bolstering the nation’s presence on the international stage.

As construction progresses and plans take shape, the unveiling of the Speke Resort Convention Centre remains eagerly anticipated, signaling a promising era of prominence and grandeur in Uganda’s hospitality landscape.
